COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Attendance: You will be allowed 3 unexcused absences for any reason. Save an absence for later in
the semester. You don't need to explain your absence. Let it be your responsibility.
However, each unexcused absence over three will result in an automatic reduction of
one grade. For instance, a total of four unexcused absences would result in a grade
of B, etc. Make-ups are at the discretion of the instructor. If any makeups are
permitted, they will be made at the rate of 3:1.This means three sessions of workout
to makeup for one session missed.
_
The class begins promptly at 7pm. Anyone entering the mat after the class begins
will be tardy. Two tardies equal one absence. In order to change and get organized,
get to the gym at least ten minutes early. This policy will affect grades and testing
for habitually late students.
_
If because of illness or injury you are unable to participate, attend the class for partial
credit. "Sitting out" will count for half credit, i.e. two sit-outs will count as one absence.

_
Technique
Sheets
All students maintain a written record of techniques learned. This record will include
(1) technique, (2) instructor and (3) date learned . Technique sheets for your skill
level will be provided by your instructor during the first week of class. Techniques
sheets will be turned in by all students in the class, regardless of rank, one week
prior to the final exam. The precise date will be announced in advance.

_
Club: The Ju Jitsu Club is offered in the Student Recreation Complex on Monday and
Wednesday evenings, 8:30pm to 10pm, and Saturday mornings from 10am-12noon. Club
attendance is not required to complete the class; however, any makeups for attendance
or instruction not received in class due to absence will be done in the club. Also, in order
to have sufficient training to qualify for Rank Testing, club attendance is mandatory!! All
Rank Testing is done by the Club. There is no charge for the club.
