for EPE-305, you are registered for the wrong class. Ask the instructor for an override
and register for the proper class. DROP/ADD may be done through IN TOUCH.
_
Attendance: You will be allowed 3 unexcused absences for any reason. Save an absence for later in
the semester. You don't need to explain your absence. Let it be your responsibility.
However, this is a Pass/Fail course and 4 or more absences is an automatic failure.
Make-ups are at the discretion of the instructor. If any makeups are permitted, they
will be made at the rate of 3:1.This means three sessions of workout to makeup for one
session missed.
_
The class begins promptly at 7pm. Anyone entering the mat after the class begins will
be tardy. Two tardies equal one absence. In order to change and get organized, get to
the gym at least ten minutes early. If because of illness or injury you are unable to
participate, attend the class for partial credit. "Sitting out" will count for half credit,
i.e. two sit-outs will count as one absence.
_
Final Paper: A final paper is required for this class. This paper will be typed, at least two pages in
length, double-spaced, signed and titled "What Ju Jitsu Means to Me." Handwritten and
late papers will not be accepted. The completed paper is required to pass this class.
_
Uniform: A gi (uniform) is required for this class. The uniform must be an all white, karate or judo
gi with a white belt. Ask you instructor if you have any questions.
_
Club: The Ju Jitsu Club is offered in the Student Recreation Complex on Monday and
Wednesday evenings, 8:30pm to 10pm, and Saturday mornings from 10am-12noon. Club
attendance is not required to complete the class; however, any makeups for attendance
or instruction not received in class due to absence will be done in the club. Also, in order
to have sufficient training to qualify for Rank Testing, club attendance is mandatory!! All
Rank Testing is done by the Club. There is no charge for the club.
