Candidates are approved for rank testing based upon the following criteria in the order
shown.

Following are the minimum attendance requirements for belt testing:

A session is a class or club meeting, including Saturdays. Qualifying sessions must be
supervised by a brown belt or higher rank. Following is a summary of the number of
sessions possible for the Fall semester:

In most cases, attendance during the semester is indicative of the student's performance
during the rank test. For a good test, everyone should have 50 to 60 sessions of
attendance. Students with attendance in excess of 60 sessions typically have an excellent
test. Following is a chart of expected test results based upon attendance.
